Amazing China: Some Exclusive Tourists Destinations.

Photo shows amazing scenery of Namsto Lake. It is a mountain lake on the border between Damxung County of Lhasa Prefecture and Baingoin County of Nagqu Prefecture in the Tibet Autonomous Region of China.


Located in the northwest of Diebu County of Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture of Gannan, Zhagana means “stone casket” in Tibetan. The major landform in Zhagana is ancient glacial landform. The village down the mountain is very beautiful.


Farmers pick Chinese wolfberries, also know as Goji, in Zhongning County, northwest China's Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, Aug. 21. The planting area of Chinese wolfberry in the county increased about 133 hectares this year, reaching 60,000 hectares.  Chinese Wolfberries are supposed to contain more beta-carotene, a type of antioxidant, than carrots. Antioxidants may have anti-aging and cancer-fighting effects.


A unique scene of "Yin-Yang river" is seen in Shaoxing, east China's Zhejiang Province. Inside of the wall is the East Lake scenic area where the water is relatively clear and greenish, while behind the wall runs the muddy water from the East Zhejiang ancient canal section of the famous Yellow River.


The remains of the Xiushui Pagoda, built in the 16th century, are seen in Shanghe Village of Huangbai Township, Dexing, east China's Jiangxi Province,Nearly half of the Pagoda has collapsed but the remaining structure still stands on its base, attracting hundreds of tourists per day. Locals say the pagoda's partial collapse occurred at least a century ago. A preservative renovation is planned by local authorities.


Tourists visit a theme pavilion of Qingdao International Horticultural Exposition 2014 in Qingdao, east China's Shandong Province, Aug. 18. Qingdao International Horticultural Exposition 2014 attracts more tourists as the peak tourist season of Qingdao comes.

Flower carpet:

People watch giant flower carpet at the Grand Place in Brussels, capital of Belgium. The biennial flower carpet, made up with about 750,000 begonia flowers, debuted on Thursday, August 22 with the theme "Turkey".




Macworld/iWorld Asia 2014:

A skull-shaped loudspeaker is displayed during the Macworld/iWorld Asia 2014, an Apple peripherals and accessories event, in Beijing, capital of China, Aug. 21.  The four-day event kicked off Thursday at Beijing's China National Convention Center, attracting over 300 world exhibitors.



Buildings made out of 3D printing technology:

The first batch of buildings made out of 3D printing technology using construction waste has been officially put to use in Shanghai on August 22. The 3D printer which could be used to print out a building has a height of 6.6 meters, width of 10 meters and length of 32 meters. 10 buildings could be printed out in one day with a 50% cost cut using this technology.



Ebola virus in West Africa:

Two American aid workers, Kent Brantly and Nancy Writebol who contracted the Ebola virus while treating patients in West Africa have been discharged from Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, the hospital said Thursday, August 21. Criteria for the patients' discharges were based on blood and urine diagnostic tests and standard infectious disease protocols, the hospital said.

Food price is rising in Tripoli:

A vendor sells watermelon in a market in Tripoli, Libya on Aug 20. The food prices in Tripoli have risen due to the scarcity of fuel as deadly militant clashes affected the petrol supply.  Since July 13, clashes between Islamist armed groups and pro-secular militias in Tripoli have left at least 102 people dead and 452 others wounded.



World's oldest living man:

Sakari Momol, at the age of 111 years, 192 days, becomes the world's oldest living man since the death of 111-year-old Alexander Imich on June 8, 2014.  Sakari was born on February 5, 1903. He lives in Fukushima Prefecture, Japan.



Earthquake in northern California's Napa area:

The earthquake with preliminary magnitude of 6.0 that hit northern California's Napa area early Sunday morning has left at least 89 injured, a number of buildings damaged and thousands without power, leading to a state of emergency in the area. It was the largest quake to rock the Bay Area since the magnitude 6.9 Loma Prieta quake in 1989.


Release of American journalist Peter Theo Curtis:

The White House confirmed the release of American journalist Peter Theo Curtis (photo) who had been held captive in Syria since October 2012. The Islamic State threatened to kill more American hostages after the beheaded U.S. journalist James Foley as avenge ongoing U.S. airstrikes on its targets in northern Iraq. U.S. special operations troops in Syria failed to locate American hostages including Foley this summer.


Human pyramid:

Indian youth make a human pyramid to reach and break the Dahi Handi, an earthen pot filled with yoghurt, as they celebrate Janamashtami in Mumbai, India, Aug. 18.  Janmashtami is the festival that marks the birth of Hindu god Krishna.

Beaver path 2014:

Participants compete in the extreme running "Beaver path 2014" in Sirvintu district, Lithuania, on Aug.10. Lithuania held the extreme running "Beaver path 2014" which mainly consisted of 5 km and 10 km distances. The routes were in the areas with swamps, meadows and forest paths which were difficult to pass through.



Monkeys’ migration:

Local government will invest RMB 5 million (USD 810k) to build two bridges for facilitating monkeys’ migration Jiyuan City, central China's Henan Province.



Woman releasing wild animals:

Photos show a woman releasing wild animals including cobras and other poisonous snakes in a zoo in south China's Guangdong Province on July 14. These photos have aroused broad criticism among Chinese citizens as this kind of activities, in the name of merit accumulation, is bringing danger to the public. Shenzhou police is investigating the case.



Visit 10 countries on bicycle: 

Two French cyclists set off from Paris on January 27, riding bicycles along the historic Silk Road and finally arrived Beijing on August 9. These two young men stepped across 10 countries in this 13,000-kilometer (8,078 miles) long trip.



189th anniversary of Bolivia's Independence :

Bolivians from Bolivian community in Sao Paulo, celebrate the 189th anniversary of Bolivia's Independence at Latin American Memorial in Sao Paulo, Brazil, Aug. 9. About 300,000 Bolivians live in Brazil.



Traditional Portuguese bullfight:

A matador performs during a traditional Portuguese bullfight at Lisbon's Campo Pequeno bullring, Portugal, Aug. 7. Portuguese bullfighting is different and far less gory than the Spanish version where the bull is stabbed to death if the matador manages to win the contest.

World War II Lancaster bomber:

People visit a World War II Lancaster bomber from Canada in Reykjavik, capital of Iceland, on Aug. 7. 
The aircraft is one of only two airworthy Lancaster bombers around the world and belongs to Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum in Hamilton, Ontario.



Robotic waiters and chefs:

The first restaurant featuring robotic waiters and chefs is opened in Suzhou, east China's Jiangsu province. Each of these robots costs Rmb 40,000 (6491 US dollars). They are capable to speak 40 sentences.




got off the train:

Dozens of Australians tilted a train to free a commuter whose leg was trapped between a carriage and a platform on August 6. The man was boarding in Perth when he slipped and became jammed in the 5cm gap between the carriage and the station. All commuters to got off the train. About 50 passengers lined up along the platform to tilt the carriage and successfully rescued the man.

Green Energy Development in Bangladesh

On May 15, 2014 US-DK Green Energy (BD) - a joint venture between companies from Denmark, USA and Bangladesh - signed a deal with the Bangladesh Power Development Board to set up a 60 MW wind turbine power plant in Cox’s Bazar. The wind power turbine will be the first of its kind in the coastal region of Bangladesh and the technology is provided by the Danish company Vestas.
The Danish Ambassador, Ms Hanne Fugl Eskjær, attended the signing ceremony at Biddut Bhaban in Dhaka along with Energy Adviser Dr. Tawfiq-e-Elahi Chowdhury and Mr. Nasrul Hamid, State Minister for power, energy and mineral resources. In recent years foreign investors and Bangladesh government invests on renewable or green energy. Its not only a fuel free power producing process , also helpful for reduction of environmental pollution. Other sources of power production like gas, coal or nuclear energy are harmful for human health and causes environmental damages, destroys trees and animals. So the renewable energy sources are environment friendly.




At the ceremony, the Danish Ambassador expressed her hope that the implementation of the wind power plant will show the way for other large scale wind and renewable energy projects in Bangladesh to reduce the environmental impact.

Danish Ambassador in "The International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples"

The International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples was observed in Bangladesh along with the rest of the world. An event was held at the Central Shaheed Minar in Dhaka recognizing the day and Danish Ambassador Ms Hanne Fugl Eskjær was a guest speaker at the event. During her speech, the Ambassador reiterated the Danish Government’s support to indigenous people’s rights all over the world and mentioned it is a priority in Danish development cooperation in Bangladesh.




The theme of this year’s day was ‘Bridging the gap: implementing the rights of indigenous people’. The event included a colourful cultural programme by the indigenous men and women reflecting the rich diversity of the indigenous communities.
